Successful management of a pregnant woman with COVID-19 and multiple severe complications

We report a case of 36-year-old gravida 2 para 1 woman at 38 weeks gestation. A caesarean section was performed for severe pre-eclampsia, intrauterine growth restriction and oligohydramnios. The patient suffered postoperative bleeding, exploratory laparotomy performed. Uterine atonia, Couvelaire uterus left adnexal haematoma were found, requiring supracervical hysterectomy. As COVID-19 pneumonia superimposed bacterial infection developed, the mechanically ventilated in intensive care unit. Remdesivir meropenem initially administered, but changed to levofloxacin ciprofloxacin following antibiotic sensitivity tests. Blood culture grew Enterococcus galinarum . Meanwhile, bleeding incisional wound occurred, which controlled by cessation heparin therapy regular care. With monitoring multidisciplinary management, patient’s condition improved, she discharged from hospital on day 25 admission.
